Meet Captain TechnoFire
I found my rhythm in the heart of Bengaluru, a city that breathes through its movement arts community. My journey didn't begin under spotlights, but under the ancient canopy of Cubbon Park and the vibrant energy of Church Street. Amidst the Sunday morning jam sessions, I discovered that flow was more than a hobby—it was a language.
In a world addicted to digital speed, I chose to pick up a prop and learn the power of slowing down. What started as a personal quest for "optimal experience" evolved into a mission: to pioneer flow arts as a mainstream discipline for entertainment and fitness in India.
The Artist: Blending Tech & Fire
As Captain Technofire, my work sits at the intersection of martial tradition, dance, and high-tech performance. I am recognized as part of the first generation of female flow artists in India, bringing a feminine strength to a discipline defined by kinetic power.
Whether I am manipulating Pixel LED staffs to create photorealistic light patterns or commanding the primal energy of a Fire Staff, my performances are designed to induce a shared trance. From the stages of Sonic Tigress (India’s first all-women music festival) to curated corporate experiences, I bring the "Technofire" aesthetic—a seamless blend of high-energy spectacle and grounded presence.
The Medium: The Contact Staff
To the untrained eye, a staff is just a stick. In the world of flow, it is a partner governed by the poetic laws of physics.
Unlike traditional spinning which relies on a tight grip, Contact Staff is an art of surrender. The prop is never held; it is invited to roll. It glides across the shoulders, neck, and back, kept in motion by a silent dialogue between gravity and momentum. To achieve this illusion, I rely on professional-grade carbon fiber and dragon staffs, chosen for their perfect rotational inertia.
"In this realm, we do not force the movement; we surrender to it. Flow is more than just object manipulation; it is an optimal experience of complete absorption, energized focus, and pure enjoyment in the present moment."
The Philosophy: Moving Around the Prop
The secret of the contact staff is a lesson in life: you do not move the prop; you move your entire body around it. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese art of Fei Cha and the precision of modern baton twirling, my practice demands immense patience and body awareness. By intentionally choosing longer, heavier staves, I slow the world down. In this state of flow, the mind quiets, the joints relax, and the boundaries between the artist and the art dissolve.
The Mission: Building the Crew
Beyond the stage, I am an advocate for the Indian flow community. Through my Staff Sessions workshops and digital tutorials, I help others unlock their own flow state. My goal is to move flow arts beyond the niche and into the mainstream—proving that movement is the ultimate medicine for the modern soul.
“Step into the rhythm. Embrace the momentum, find your center, and let’s slow the world down together.”
